Avoid Vehicle Safety Inspection with Latest Safety Features
If you drive a car, you must
be worried about your safety and have repeatedly gone through vehicle safety inspections. The safety features in a vehicle protect you from any unfortunate
accident. In the past, vehicles were built only for driving purposes and did
not have many safety features. Modern cars have more safety features, large infrastructure, high-speed roads, and increasing accidents. Since automobiles
have ingrained so much in our lives, safety features have also become
essential. This article discusses safety features in modern cars available to date.
Airbags
Airbags are inflatable bags
that inflate instantaneously when your vehicle hits something and keep you safe
from collisions. Several collision sensors are used to activate the function
and inflate the bags. Automakers have installed airbags all around the
vehicle's cabin. This keeps you, the driver, and the front-seated person safe
from accidental collisions or crashes.
Anti-Lock Braking System
Automobile companies have
been using anti-lock braking systems in vehicles since the 1970s. Though the
industry has undergone many changes, the basic function of ABS has remained the
same, i.e., preventing the locking of wheels in case of a hard brake. Thanks to
modern Artificial Intelligence, the ABS sensors on each wheel detect the
locking and override the driver's input by pumping the brakes 100 times per
second. This helps the driver to control and manage the vehicle properly while
driving. Vehicles have an anti-brake system on either rear wheels or all four
wheels.
Traction Control
Traction control adjusts
vehicle speed in case of any slippage. The system monitors the vehicle's speed
and tire's actions. If the car moves slower than the tires spinning, it
automatically lowers tire speed. This helps in maintaining the car's traction
on the road. With a high-end traction control system, your car will unlikely to
slip, and the chances of feasible accidents will also come down.
Electronic-Stability Control
(ESC)
ESC prevents the vehicle from
skidding or spinning. The sensor monitors the direction of the vehicle and
steering wheel. If it detects that both directions do not sync, the system
performs a corrective action and applies brakes on any of the wheels to keep it
in control.
Automatic High Beam
Headlights
The sensors installed on the
front side detect the incoming light from the opposite direction and adjust
accordingly. If a car approaches your vehicle from the opposite
direction, the system automatically lowers the light beam to prevent the
blinding of other drivers. This keeps you safe and prevents the possibility of
accidents.
Forward Collision Warning
Forward collision systems are
installed in many vehicles these days. The system makes an alarm if you are
approaching a stopped car. On getting the audiovisual warning, you need to
apply the brakes. This helps in keeping you safe from any forward collision.
Moreover, if you follow a car too closely, it will also generate a warning.
